Trip to sursock museum by Aya Masri

                                                           TRIP To SURSOCK MUSEUM

Monday, October, 17 2016, we went to visit the Sursock Meseum located in the centre of Beirut .

We left school at 9:35 and got  back at 11:50. It is a modern art and contemporary museum which

opened its doors  in 1961. One arrived a guide has presented some works  of the Meseum and guided

us throughout the visit. Of all works, the only one that took my attention was that of Marwan

Rechmaoui who was called. " WASTE ". He made  4 sculptural cubes from plastic bottles and caps ,

aluminum cans, rubber,  tires and wavy cardboard. Each sculptural was made from materials used

In our daily life .  In my opinion,  the visit was  very usefull and fun, and  answers many questions

about the concept of "Waste".

Sersok museum by Tala Koussa
On Monday ,October 17 , 2016 we went me and my friends from school to Sersok's meseum . In order to sensitize us to the environment . There was a lot of exiting projects , but the one which draw my attention was the project of Marwan Rechmaoui named waste . He wants to show us how we can recycle in a creative way .It was four cubic sculptures made of plastic bottles and caps , aluminium bottles , wheels , cartons. I think this project is fantastic to a country like Lebanon . Instead of wasting these matters why we don't creat new ideas like Marwan Rechmaoui?

Sursock Museum

by Nourhan SINNO

On Monday,October 17,2016, our class went to Sursock Museum that was before an old palace. We went there to see work of arts about the environment, for our school project (EPI).

When we first got in, what really captured my attention was the creativity of the work of art.As we were observing them, thousands of question were passing through my head. And when the guides started explaining the idea of every painting and sculptures,I realized that every artist had message that he wanted to give us through his work. Many paintings and sculptures showed us the consequences of the pollution, like the endangered animals. This experience really affected me, it also showed me how much our world was in danger, but also how we can fix it.

One of my favorite sculptures,"WASTE",by Marwan Rechmaoui. This work is a sculptural installation of four cubes made of recycled materials:plastic bottles, tires, cans and carton. This painting really impressed me, I liked it very much, it solves Lebanon's crises. If the recycling was taken seriously by the citizens, we could help our country by cleaning it and getting rid of the garbage,

Our trip to Sursock museum by Yasmine Berjaoui

Our trip to Sursock museum was a very interesting one.
Personally, the museum captivated me within its art work. All of them were created by Lebanese artists and are very modern. They tempted to captivate me in a fascinating way, as if they were coming to life.
While the guides that were present explained us, everything started to get clearer, and as if the real value of the art works themselves started to show.
And the more they got deeper with the explanation, the more I was impressed. Thousands of questions that needed answers were going through my mind, and a rush of feelings started to go up my body.

The visit to the museum was truly worth the wait, and I encourage every Lebanese to visit the museum, because it shows that every one of us could be creative and that we should discover our capacities.
You can go visit the official website of the museum by clicking on the following link: http://www.sursock.museum/

Trip to Sursok Museum by Thalia Tabbara

Trip to Sursok Museum
A couple of weeks ago, my class and I visited an old palace that got transformed to a museum : the Sursok museum.

To start off, the guides showed us multiple art pieces and explained to us their meanings. Personally, the guides weren't the best ; they didn't really communicate with us, all they cared about was to explain and get finished with the work. Anyway, my favorite piece of art was ''Spectrum'' made by Monira Al Qadari. It too my attention from its meaning where they show us its advantages with the beautiful bright colors and its disadvantages ; that petroleum is pollutant.

Above all, we all had a fun and great time and the trip was exciting.

Halloween by Thalia Tabbara

                          Halloween
It's Halloween! What should I dress up as?
A queen ? All these costumes I have to choose between
I've come down to thirteen
I think it's best if I'm unseen
I can be a ghost , and go trick or treat
And get all the candy I will need.
Every candy has a different taste
Some can't even be replaced
There are Halloween traditions,
Like Jack-o-lanterns shining bright,
In the middle of the night
Bats flapping their wings,
Around the children's swings.
This is how we celebrate this season tonight,
Every year we come back with less fright .
