Istanbul
by Nourhan SINNO.
During the Toussaint vacation, me and my family went to Istanbul, in Turkey. It's divided into two parts by the Bosphorus strait, the Asian and European Istanbul. They're connected by the Bosphorus bridge that was built in 1970 and completed in 1973.
We stayed in a hotel, that is located in famous Taksim touristic area.We visited many well-known historical sights.
On the first day, we planned to sight see the Hagia Sophia museum and the Sultan Ahmet Mosque as they are both in Sultan Ahmet area and located close to each other. The Blue Mosque, is one of the most famous and popular Islamic worship places in Istanbul city and the world, that was constructed during the rule of Sultan Ahmet, the fourteenth Sultan of the Ottoman empire in 1616.
After that, we headed to Hagia Sophia, that was previously a church during the Byzantine empire, and later as a mosque during the Ottoman empire and as a museum nowadays.
The second day,our plan was to discover the DolmabahŞe palace, it was the mansion of the last six Ottoman Sultans and the first president of the Republic of Turkey, Kemal Mustafa Ataturk,
After a three hours breath taking tour, at Dolmabahşe palace, the next stop was at Topkapi palace, that was one of the royal residences of the Ottoman Sultans over a long period of time.
Day three, day four and the last day of my trip were the craziest and funniest days of the trip.We spent the whole day, every day jumping from one metro station to another, meeting new people from all arround the world, wondering arround the streets of Istanbul, shopping at its malls and eating delicious turkish food and delight at its restaurants.
In brief,I visited many countries and cities, but to me Istanbul was the best, the greatiest, most attractive and wonderful city at all.
