Halloween

What does Halloween celebrate?
Halloween is a holiday with a long history and can have different meanings for different people. The name Halloween is a shorter version of All Hallows' Eve or the night before All Saints Day. It can be thought of as a celebration of the night before All Saints Day.
When is Halloween celebrated?
October 31st
Who celebrates this day?
People around the world celebrate this day. It is sometimes thought of as more of kid's holiday, but many adults enjoy it as well.
What do people do to celebrate?
The main tradition of Halloween is to dress up in a costume. People dress up in all sorts of costumes. Some people like scary costumes such as ghosts, witches, or skeletons, but a lot of people dress up in fun costumes like superheroes, movie stars, or cartoon characters. Children celebrate the day by going trick-or-treating at night. They go from door to door saying "Trick or treat". The person at the door usually gives them some candy. Other Halloween activities include costume parties, parades, bonfires, haunted houses, and carving jack-o-lanterns from pumpkins.

Ferdinand Porsche

Life
OBorn in 3 September 1875 and died in 30 January 1951 in Maffersdorf (Czech). Ferdinand was an automotive engineer and founder of the Porsche car company.
OHe is best known for creating the first electric vehicle (Lohner-Porsche), the Volkswagen Beetle, the Mercedes-Benz SS/SSK, other important developments and Porsche automobiles.
OPorsche was an important contributor to the German war effort during World War II. He was involved in the production of advanced tanks such as the Tiger I, Tiger II, as well as other weapon systems, including flying bombs. Porsche was a member of the German Nazi party and the SS.
In 1996 Porsche was inducted into the International     Motorsports Hall of Fame and in 1999 he won the         award of Car Engineer of the Century.

Career
OHis life as an engineer started early, at the age of 22, when he designed an electric engine. In 1900 he was hired by a carmaker of the time. He installed one of his engines on a Lohner and showed it in the Paris World Fair. The car was the show-stopper of the event, and later obtained positive results in several races.
OPorsche worked in the design of Mercedes-Benz cars until 1928, when he left because of disagreements the other chief engineer of the factory. But his last development in the factory was probably one of the most important: The curious, exotic and fast SSKL.
OAfter Porsche left Mercedes, he was soon hired to design the now extinct Austria cars, and later joined another very important German auto maker, Auto Union. In this factory he designed the famous and complex 16-cylinder race cars. While working in Auto Union, he formed with his son “Ferry” an independent factory that had their last name, Porsche, as name. Ferry worked as design head.
OIn another example of versatility and excellence, he won the contract for building the Volkswagen, a car that, according to the beliefs of Adolf Hitler, was going to put every German citizen on wheels. And it did. With help from the Nazi government, he started building the Volkswagen plant. Finally, the car hit showrooms on 1939, but the war postponed its full production until 1945.

What if we had super powers !

That would be an amazing thing , because if we have them we can do everything we want like : Fly ,
Froze someone by blewing on him or even burn things by using our eyes
It would be amazing but also dangerous if we dont know how to use them or if we use them for bad things i think it would be fabulous to have them but we would also loose our humanity.

A Disturbing Episode

Nowadays, almost every school in Lebanon celebrates the Lebanese Independence Day, which occurs at the 22nd of November, for now 73 years. But at our school, something disturbing happened.

As the celebration started, almost every student was talking and shouting and screaming, whilst the new headmaster was making a speech about the Lebanese Independence. Some of them calmed down a bit when the Lebanese Hymn was played, but they just restarted everything afterwards, considering this ceremony a waste of time. Some of them even started hitting and pushing each others all around the recess yard.

This episode was a very disturbing one, because of all the disrespect the students showed to their great country and their new headmaster. Why all this disrespect? Why all this rudeness? Do we really lack the necessary politeness to stand still for at least half an hour, in order to show our respect?

Lebanon's Independence Day by Yasmine Berjaoui

Lebanon’s Independence Day
Its Lebanon’s 73rd Independence Day, and we should be getting attached to our grounds more and more every single day.
It’s where we come from, our roots, our home, our family, our freedom, our environment, our sky. It’s our war for peace and safety, our victims, our sacrifices, it’s our country, and it’s the only place where we belong.
No matter how much we travel, what we see, what we hear, what we feel, everything will always lead us to our beloved country, our only home.
Sure, we are going through a lot, but we can make Lebanon a better place. You say it’s dirty, filled with garbage, whilst you’re the one who’s making it worst, who isn’t recycling, who’s littering, and you keep on saying you want to live somewhere else, anywhere, anything is better than Lebanon. Well, you can’t be more wrong, because you and the rising generation, you and all of Lebanon’s youth; you are the only hope for Lebanon.

We can change; we can be the change we want to see in Lebanon. We are Lebanon.

Wael Arakji by Nidaa Rabah

Wael Arakji, born on September the 4th 1994,  is my favorite Lebanese Basketball player who plays for Al Riyadi Beirut in the Lebanese Basketball League as a Point Guard.
He is known for his speed and acrobatic finishes.
Wael Arakji was a huge standout for the U18 national team in the 2012 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship in which Lebanon came 7th in the rankings. His individual performance however sparked the interests of Slobodan Subotic who at the time had been appointed as head coach in that year for Riyadi. Arakji signed for Riyadi in 2012 and played his first game in the 2012 Hariri Tournament taking place in Saida. Arakji has been considered as one of the best young talents entering the league along with team mate Ali Haidar. On April 26, 2015, it was reported that he entered the 2015 NBA draft.

Fat food is a type of food that is prepared and served very quickly. It began in Britain in the 1860s, then it reached the United States in the 1950s.Fast Food may include chips, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, chicken and many more.Fast Food is high in calories and sugar that contribute to increasing weight gain, even small amount of Fast Food can increase your weight gain. That can cause obesity means having to much body fat.It can also cause heart diseases and Alzheimer. But did you know that eating too much Fast Food can cause fatigues, lack of energy and dangerous spike in blood sugar levels.
So in conclusion, although fast food tastes good eating it once in a while is fine, eating it too much may result in health problems. Because it contains high amounts of sugar and salt are too much for the body to handle.
