Wael Arakji,
born on September the 4th 1994, is my favorite Lebanese Basketball player who
plays for Al Riyadi Beirut in the Lebanese Basketball League as a Point Guard.
He is known for his speed and
acrobatic finishes.
Wael Arakji was
a huge standout for the U18 national team in the 2012 FIBA Asia Under-18
Championship in which Lebanon came 7th in the rankings. His individual
performance however sparked the interests of Slobodan Subotic who at the time
had been appointed as head coach in that year for Riyadi. Arakji signed for
Riyadi in 2012 and played his first game in the 2012 Hariri Tournament taking
place in Saida. Arakji has been considered as one of the best young talents
entering the league along with team mate Ali Haidar. On April 26, 2015, it was
reported that he entered the 2015 NBA draft.
