trip to sursock museum.

Sursock Museum

by Nourhan SINNO

On Monday,October 17,2016, our class went to Sursock Museum that was before an old palace. We went there to see work of arts about the environment, for our school project (EPI).

When we first got in, what really captured my attention was the creativity of the work of art.As we were observing them, thousands of question were passing through my head. And when the guides started explaining the idea of every painting and sculptures,I realized that every artist had message that he wanted to give us through his work. Many paintings and sculptures showed us the consequences of the pollution, like the endangered animals. This experience really affected me, it also showed me how much our world was in danger, but also how we can fix it.

One of my favorite sculptures,"WASTE",by Marwan Rechmaoui. This work is a sculptural installation of four cubes made of recycled materials:plastic bottles, tires, cans and carton. This painting really impressed me, I liked it very much, it solves Lebanon's crises. If the recycling was taken seriously by the citizens, we could help our country by cleaning it and getting rid of the garbage,

Our trip to Sursock museum by Yasmine Berjaoui

Our trip to Sursock museum was a very interesting one.
Personally, the museum captivated me within its art work. All of them were created by Lebanese artists and are very modern. They tempted to captivate me in a fascinating way, as if they were coming to life.
While the guides that were present explained us, everything started to get clearer, and as if the real value of the art works themselves started to show.
And the more they got deeper with the explanation, the more I was impressed. Thousands of questions that needed answers were going through my mind, and a rush of feelings started to go up my body.

The visit to the museum was truly worth the wait, and I encourage every Lebanese to visit the museum, because it shows that every one of us could be creative and that we should discover our capacities.
You can go visit the official website of the museum by clicking on the following link: http://www.sursock.museum/

Trip to Sursok Museum by Thalia Tabbara

Trip to Sursok Museum
A couple of weeks ago, my class and I visited an old palace that got transformed to a museum : the Sursok museum.

To start off, the guides showed us multiple art pieces and explained to us their meanings. Personally, the guides weren't the best ; they didn't really communicate with us, all they cared about was to explain and get finished with the work. Anyway, my favorite piece of art was ''Spectrum'' made by Monira Al Qadari. It too my attention from its meaning where they show us its advantages with the beautiful bright colors and its disadvantages ; that petroleum is pollutant.

Above all, we all had a fun and great time and the trip was exciting.

Halloween by Thalia Tabbara

                          Halloween
It's Halloween! What should I dress up as?
A queen ? All these costumes I have to choose between
I've come down to thirteen
I think it's best if I'm unseen
I can be a ghost , and go trick or treat
And get all the candy I will need.
Every candy has a different taste
Some can't even be replaced
There are Halloween traditions,
Like Jack-o-lanterns shining bright,
In the middle of the night
Bats flapping their wings,
Around the children's swings.
This is how we celebrate this season tonight,
Every year we come back with less fright .

Trip to Sursock Museum Report by Rafic ABDALLAH

The Sursock Museum is a very interesting museum where the best Lebanese artwork is reunited. After my trip there with my class, I realized that this museum is worth its reputation in Lebanon.

It's also a witness to Lebanon's creativity and to its will to progress in these domains. I liked it very much, as it produced on me an almost magical effect. I could only stand there and watch, whilst tons of feelings were racing in my mind. I was amazed by what I was seeing, and impressed by what I was hearing. all of this was a sample of my feelings back there.

I specially liked Marwan Rechmaoui's ''Waste'' between all of the museum's artwork. These four cubes just impressed me, and there composition even more. The idea that hundreds and thousands of soda cans, shoe boxes, tires, and plastic bottles were fitted into four small cubes amazed me, and I still think about it until now.

This trip was very interesting and cultural at the same time to me,and the museum itself magical and fascinating.

Halloween project by Nourhan Sinno

                                                          Halloween project

                                               By Nourhan Sinno

Clowns were funny and entertaining for kids. But now they became one of the most scary things in the world. People started making horror movies about them, specially in the United States of America. Recently, during halloween, people started wearing scary clowns costumes or face painting his look. That is why I drew a scary halloween picture for my project.

In my opinion, halloween is fun for all ages but specially for kids. But some adults, like to wear costumes or go trick or treat on halloween, but on the other hand there are some people who are against halloween. Some of them have their own personal reasons, and I understand them, others are just way to serious. I like halloween, it is fun and you can enjoy it with your friends and family.

Spookiest day of the year poem by Yasmine BERJAOUI

    Spookiest day of the year
It is so very near
Oh spookiest day of the year
It’s just around the corner
Got its pockets filled with horror
You can dress up crazy and go wild
And scare the life out of that child
You can go trick or treating
Stop by your neighbors and yell out a greeting
Dressed like a goblin, a vampire, or a ghost
Check out who you can scare the most

You can carve a pumpkin
And hang out with your creepy twin!
It is finally here
You can run but you can’t hide, my dear
HAPPY HALLOWEEN !
Because now, it is time to fear!
Stop thinking, it’s Halloween!
